PALM ISLAND JUMEIRAH STORM -DUBAI
I always wanted to take a photo like this , taken around 2 am on the 6 Dec 08.
here you see the Palm Island of Dubai , the palm island Jumeirah is one of the 3 huge Dubai projects , man made island in the shape of palm tree in the far end of the Island you see the New Atlantis hotel which was opened just last month , they did the world biggest fireworks show for the grand opening of this hotel , the most famous and wealthy people of this world came for the private party of the Atlantis hotel.

Thank you very much , it is not easy to capture lightning , you never know where it hits that is one thing and the other is when!! so what i did i pointed the camera towards where the lightning was happening most , then left the shutter open for 15 sec and moved up to 30 sec , i had to take about 50 + shots to get one that i like you must use a stand for the camera and also always use the self timer so no movement, and this is the lucky one.

Oh My Gosh, I watched a special on this area and can’t wait until we can visit it. It was so beautiful the one hotel has an indoor ski slope…It’s an awesome place and now your photo…smile. It’s awesome with capturing the lightening and then all those beautiful lights and colors…WOW…Truly Excellent…I really do appreciate this photo…should win a contest for sure…Scott

It is not that common to get storms in Dubai .. the weather in winter is great , like summer in Europe.
