I cannot for the life of me figure out what it is about this work that holds my attention…….I have taken literally thousands of images of people and places but every time I look at this image it holds my attention somehow……….in-fact I would go so far as to say there is something about this capture which is outside the realm of photography…….the essence of the moment…..the beingness……..somehow the camera has captured 3 or 4 dimensions……I have quite honestly never experienced an image quite like this……..to an outsider looking in……they probably wonder what all the fuss is about………it just looks like 2 average men walking their respective dogs along a beach……but then you look again a bit deeper and something else is there and you can’t put your finger on it………..it is something outside the dimension of time and thought……..very strange one this……..it would be great to have some feedback on this ………..just to see how it effects others who spend some time looking at it……..feel free to write as much as you like about this because you know what…….something took this picture which had nothing to do with me!!!!!

Captures my interest too great shot and clarity I think it’s the composition and lower POV as If I am walking with them
Hi Kim,
Yes that’s it! Good point. I really feel I am there with them somehow………its as if the photo captured “real time” as well as the 2 men ……..there is something else also that I just can’t put into words………it’s as if their presence somehow is still alive in the image……….the image is the past captured and solidfied but somehow the essence of the moment ……..the isness…….the beingness……..has also been captured……..very strange one this….its almost like a freak of nature!!

It’s not posed….how you saw it then is exactly how it will remain…..the low POV almost makes it feel it’s through the eyes of a child to me…..its a great photo!
I love this shot, not sure what it is about it but it is fabulous.
Great shot

Very first impression was I thought, it’s the Sunshine Coast (got that in one) and then when I read your text, I looked at it and thought the lighting gives a 3D effect plus the low POV puts one bang, right into the scene. No wonder you have the attachment that you do … ??!!
Great DOF … how about some camera details with this great image.
Well Barbara,
It was taken with a Canon 20D. The rest of the settings are on a raw image somewhere on 20 DVD’s LoL……So when I find it I will let you know…….Best Wishes and thank you for the great feedback.

As I passed through, I had to stop… mmmm Unsure why, as its an everyday thing to see (if you live on the coast), but yes you are right about dragging you in, and drawing your attention to this image.. To me I think it brings back lots of memories of walking down the beach – you have people in the surf, swimming and looks like going out surfing too… I think this is an amazing capture.. Well Done.. Cheers… Sandy :)
Really draws me in.

It is a spectacular capture. I think it’s a moment frozen in a place that we’d all like to be… on the beach with our best friend. It kind of looks like there is something really big happening out of view that only the people in the pic can see… like a space ship landing or something. Ha ha. But it’s not traumatic or terrible, just worthy of stopping to look at.
