I am a retired web designer and keen amateur photographer. I joined my local camera club in Sept 2006 with a Nikon 1.3MP point and shoot. I then bought a Nikon D80 and after some success, and much more enjoyment, I bought myself a D300 and 18-200VR lens in December 2007.
I am Chairman of my local camera club and I won Photographer of the Year in 2007/08 and again in 2008/09. I maintain a blog that includes recent photos, tips and tricks here
My main interest is travel photography, however, as I progress in my photography I find that I am enjoying monochrome more and more.

On September 11, 2001, there was an attack on America.
Sometimes; / I feel blue, and out of sorts
The ship slices though murky darkness, / the sky a vast broad sweep of burnt orange. / Large rocks are set like pieces of blotting paper against the shoreline, / moping up the inky depths below.
