Artist's Description

I don’t feel right about giving you this lady’s story, I think it is enough to say I was approached in the street by her and after a gentle conversation, as she was leaving I asked if it was ok if I took a picture.
She had a lovely beguiling voice with the lilt of a european accent, soft hands, and a sweet manner.

Out of all my street shots, even though I usually prefer candid photography, this one speaks to my love of street photography above all others.
Street portrait, Melbourne CBD

I wanted to include this lady in SITHOM2013 but my previously posted version of her would not have been suitable as it didn’t fit SITHOM’s basic editing requirements.

protect her Oh Lord

So I went back to the drawing board and started again, editing strictly within SITHOM’s guidelines.

However, upon reflection, I decided this woman deserved a close-up.
It’s funny, I met this person for a few minutes on a rainy day in Melbourne and she will probably stay with me for the rest of my life. Not many people can have this effect. It’s special.
