Fairfield Park Boathouse, Yarra River, Aus.
“Fairfield boathouse was established in 1908 by John St Clair as a picnic, camping and refreshment room area. John St Clair was a piano tuner from Smith street Fitzroy, with a vision.
Many years of research and design resulted in the hand built rowing skiffs. In 1984 a shipwright from Portsmouth U.K was commissioned to research, design and build the first boat. They are replicas of Thames pleasure craft used in the 19th century first as work boats and later for recreation.
A pleasure to row and a delight to the eye with their handsome functional prow and efficient wine glass stern, these craft are unique in the Southern hemisphere." http://fairfieldboathouse.com
