He hoped the lei around his neck would bring him luck, and as he sucked on the icy slush of his strawberry cocktail he coolly contemplated his chances.

Canon PowerShot SX40 HS.
Edited (heavily) in PS CS5.1

From what I recall here is the editing info. (Probably a couple steps missing, but you get the gist).
sharpening, tonal contrast, desaturation, glamour glow, conversion to bw, bi color filters, lips and drink cut from first layer and applied to last layer and faded back, eyes cut from first layer and applied to last, vibrance and gamma adjusted, water paper filter applied, white highlights drawn back into eyes where they were originally but had disappeared with all the editing.

Having a blast.

LOL…..Well did the lei help ? The added digital noise and grain make for an interesting affect Maree…..

  • haha in his dreams Thomas :)
I actually did a million things to this to get to this point. The final one being a water paper effect to get that elongated grain.
    Thanks for stopping by xx

  • Thank you very much Anna. I’m happy you like this… took me ages :D
Well, I just tried different steps (trial and error) till I got to where I was happy with it.
I usually don’t try to remember what I do because my process is a free flowing one lol.
But this time I just made an effort to walk myself back through it after I had finished.
    Thanks xox

Incredibel image and editing! His expression says it all, and your words compliment the image perfectly! Well done my friend! :)

  • Thank you SO MUCH for this encouraging comment Angie. Sometimes the images I spend the most amount of time on seem to have the least general appeal, lol. I love this one and I’m so glad you like it too xox

    Hilarious photo, Maree!
I just love to read your words in the description box…

  • Thank you, I’m really happy you like it and get the humour. When I wrote the words I heard it to the sound of a cheap detective novel… if you have any idea what I mean LOL.
