This recently born baby Barbary Macaque was being lovingly protected by it’s mother. She would release him to move only a few steps away from her before she pulled him back into the safety of either her arms or up on her back. This image was taken with a Nikon D5000, 18 – 200 lens at the Monkey Forest, Trentham Gardens, Staffordshire. It is a fabulous place, 60 acres of magnificent woodland where the monkeys live free, surrounded only by a huge perimetre fence. The public are allowed to wander freely along the superbly natural woodland paths, some areas are large glades, others pretty little streams and narrow paths. I would recommend it to anyone as a perfect place to see wild monkeys as they should be viewed. Only in Africa have I experienced such closeness to these animals.
Processed in CS3 and onOne Photoshop with several textures from French Kiss too.
Thank you so much Irene, it always a thrill when I manage to produce an image which fits your high standards. Thank you for the fave too, much appreciated. Alma x
Alma – you have out done yourself! This is the first thing I saw when I opened the computer up, and it is just perfect! And we have about 6 inches of snow!! Yay!! Hugs, P xx
Oh my lovely Polly how you have brightened a very dismal morning for me. I value your opinion so highly and I am thrilled with your comment and fave, thank you so much. We too have snow, ice and freezing fog, not a happy combination. Just the sort of weather for producing some more masterpieces!!! Hugs, Alma xx
What a tender moment, superbly captured! Perfect editing! You were fortunate to see such a wonderful spot!
Thank you Angie for this lovely comment and fave. We will definitely go back later in the year, it is only about 15 miles away from us and the opportunities are endless. Alma
