Fading Memories by

The original image for this picture was taken at Bamburgh in Northumberland. Along the main road into Bamburgh from Seahouses there is a wonderful stretch of poppies which back on to the sand dunes which, in turn, open onto the most beautiful beach. It is a glorious place and one of my favourites. The whole of that stretch of coastline is magnificent and includes access to the magical Farne Islands and their puffins and other beautiful sea birds in their thousands.

Taken with Nikon D5000 18 – 200 lens, textures from Irene Burdell, onOne and CS3 and photoshop.

About almaalice

I am 70 years young, and getting younger thanks to the new skills I am learning from the wonderful red bubble community. I came here as a competent photographer, no more, and discovered all the joys of manipulation. I now work for hours creating unique images from my photographs and then submit them for the never failing kind comments from the wonderful friends I have met on red bubble.

Beautiful and soft Alma. Would love to see the poppies in the original….

  • Thank you so much Maree, I will dig it out for you, they are a wonderful sight. However, as they are not out native wild poppies there is a move afoot to eradicate them. I understand where they are coming from, these stronger immigrants can overwhelm our more delicate native species but such beauty screams for survival in my mind. Alma xx
