This is an entirely unique picture. I doubt that many people were able to get such images as we were lucky enough to stand exactly in front of the Queen as she alighted from her car. Viscount Ashbrook was there to greet her. He and my husband had been sharing a joke because the date 10th June is the Duke of Edinburgh’s birthday and all the flags fly to mark the date, but my husband swears it is for him!!! The Duke should have been with her but he was suffering from flu. This is a personal triptych assembled in particular for royal watchers. Another member of red bubble AnnDixon’s grandaughter was actually presented to the Queen at this same occasion.

I am 71 years young, and getting younger thanks to the new skills I am learning from the wonderful red bubble community. I came here as a competent photographer, no more, and discovered all the joys of manipulation. I now work for hours creating unique images from my photographs and then submit them for the never failing kind comments from the wonderful friends I have met on red bubble.

A terrific series of shots! Very nicely done!!!!, Bill

  • Thank you Bill. I have had an overwhelming response to my other Royal shots and have been asked for more so I thought rather than flood my site I would create this triptych. Depending on the response I may do more. Alma

She just keeps on keeping on, doesn’t she! Wonderful images Alma…beautifully presented!:-)

  • Thank you so much Lynda, her work schedule is relentless. If you take a careful look into the back of the car in the middle shot you can see the red box which contains all her state papers for that day. Presumably she reads through them whilst travelling!! Amazing lady. Alma

Fantastic captures!! I am AnnDixon’s Grandaughter, the one who was presented to the queen on this occasion!! A day I will never forget! You did very well with these captures!! All the best… Michaela

  • Hello Michaela, so pleased to meet you and to congratulate you on your being chosen to meet the Queen, what an honour. You too might understand what I felt about her being just another human being with a different calling and how her overwhelming sense of duty and commitment has carried through all these years of devoted service. When she was standing right beside you her humanity was to me the most tangible quality.
I am so pleased you like the pictures and if you ever want any just let me know. Alma x

Lovely captures, fab presentation. Lovely work, superb!!

  • Wow, so pleased that you like this so much. We will be going to Arley Hall in the next few weeks so I intend to print this one and leave a copy there for Lord Ashbrook. He spent quite a long time chatting to us whilst we waited for the Queen to arrive and he was charming. Alma

Brilliant! Saw the Queen and Prince Philip today at Sandringham, but not allowed to use my camera!!!

  • That is a shame, but at least you got to see them at the start of an historical year and that will live in your memory. Thank you for the lovely comment, much appreciated. Alma
