LONG LIVE ECHIDNAS!

I have just been informed I am a Finalist in the South Australian Museum’s 2009 WATERHOUSE Natural History Art Prize for my Work On Paper, ‘Echidna Tale’.
The shortlist judges were artist Garry Shead, and Barry Pearce, Head Curator of Australian Art, Art Gallery of NSW. I am ecstatic!

I returned this week from the Adelaide Hills, spending precious time in Hans Heysen’s studio, The Cedars, Hahndorf, and was lamenting my lack of time to visit the Natural History Museum. Now I’ll be returning on Friday 17 July for the media call and announcement of prize winners at the South Australian Museum. Long live Echidnas!!!

Thank you for your lovely sentiment, Catherine. Yes, the impact of being at The Cedars and in his studio will remain with me for the rest of my life …
