Blown Away

A couple of years ago I watched a documentary and also read a story about genocide in an area of Africa where women had been separated from their men and been mutilated or dismembered in the name of “ethnic cleansing”.
Heartbroken on a core level, I had to paint this grief out of me and connect with what beauty was left of these women as they lay bleeding in the fields.
BLOWN AWAY is my epitaph to these humble women. Creating this work also helped me forgive their perpetrators … for “they know not what they do!”
ART is a powerful healing tool. As Artists we have a Gift AND Purpose to restore Light and Vision into the global imagination. LET US MANIFEST A WORLD OF PEACE.
