Biography of British artist John Allsopp
John Allsopp is a super realist artist, who is well known for his portraiture of the British Royal family. His work extends to other subjects which include, Police Motor Bikes, Wire Haired Dachshunds, Football and Rugby stars, wedding portraits and fire fighting scenes.
John has spent thirty years refining his unique super realistic artistic style and is completely self taught, books video tutorial forming the basis of his study. His original paintings are in private collections all over the world; his portrait of the Queen Mother is in the possession of the Princes Trust, which HRH Prince Charles Prince of Wales founded in 1976. Charles having completed his duty in the Royal Navy became dedicated to improving the lives of disadvantaged young people in the United Kingdom and began the Trust to deliver on the commitment. John is proud to be associated with this worth while charity and will continue to donate money from the sale of his Giclee canvas prints.
Queen Elizabeth 2 Giclee canvas print was recently donated to the Marie Curie Cancer Care Fund in Newcastle upon Tyne, the work raised valuable finance to help the charity with their palliative care to people suffering from cancer.
In early 2000 John was commissioned to produce paintings that feature the Fire Brigade, donations from John’s works depicting the work of this Emergency Service will be made to the Fire service National benevolent fund which supports families who have lost loved ones fighting fires. John served as a Retained Fire Fighter along side his father Stan Allsopp with the Durham county and Tyne Wear Metropolitan Fire Brigades. The inspiration to paint these scenes came from his experience of fire fighting gained from his time as a Retained Fireman.
Since early in 19995 John has continued to develop his style and research has been kept busy creating personal portraits and paintings on a commission basis, John will produce almost any subject in oil on canvas. He works from detailed clear colored photographs and from real life to capture the subject in detailed drawings before committing oil to canvas.
Pop Star Collection project
In 2009 John started the pop star collection, which will include collectable limited edition Giclee canvas prints featuring some of the best known British Pop Artists in the Industry these works will include portraits of Leona Lewis and Cheryl Cole before moving on to capture American and other well known people.
