I found what I can best refer to as a ‘Car Graveyard’ when I was in Morgan (in the Riverland region of South Australia) recently. Around 20 old cars just rotting away in a field.
In this image, an EK/FB Holden station wagon is flanked by an unknown vehicle on its roof.
Due to the difficult lighting conditions and the absence of any supplementary lighting, this image (and the other 3 in the series that I have also uploaded) was blended using 3 to 4 different images. The blending was done manually using luminosity blending techniques in Photoshop CS4.
After the blended image was complete, I then performed the black and white conversion (also in Photoshop CS4), which I felt was the best way to portray these scenes.
Taken with Canon EOS 40D camera, using Canon EF-S 10-22mm lens, tripod mounted with live-view used to focus and remote control used to release shutter.
