Being on Redbubble has been one of the best things I’ve done in encouraging me to do more paintings and/or drawings. I found this site purely by accident back in Feb 2009 while I was looking for something else. Glad for the accident! A friend of mine had been telling me for several months to paint, draw, paint! And, I could not get my engine going. But through a Redbubble member, Maureen Mahila, whom I want to acknowledge had become for me a catalyst and an encourager back in Nov 2009. She acknowledged several pieces of my work and encouraged me to get into “Groups”. I started to get more involved in Redbubble groups, adding to my favs, adding my own paintings/drawings and adding to my watchlist. I started to paint, did a portrait and now I feel more charged and encouraged to keep up with my art work and not stay dormant. I have met other people and made their acquaintances. For this, I am very grateful to Maureen!
My Heroes Dance
Silent hues rest on my site
nothing disturbed nothing
to write.
Then, as the light dawns
on an unexpected day
comes one hero to dance
in my forgotten parade.
Like soft rain falling on parched
ground, the hero dances
and brings life to a forgotten hand.
Then, another hero joins in dancing
spilling soft rays, I see flowers bursting,
birds are now singing, life is breathing,
green is revealing.
My heroes are dancing.

I am a watercolorist but love to work in other media such as pastels, acrylics and pencil. Also, I am a graphic designer. When I was in third grade I first discovered my talent as an artist. I was drawing a horse and looked over at another classmate who was suppose to be drawing a horse too. When I looked at this students drawing I said to myself, “is that a horse?” and when I looked back at my drawing I could see I was able to draw the horse and then said to myself, “I’m an artist!” I’ve studied under different teachers to develop the gift in me. I love painting with watercolors because of the freedom I have with them. But recently, I have discovered the wonderful media of pastels in doing portraits and painting with acrylics which has been a fun learning experience.
