The photograph was taken at a random train station on my journey from Mombasa to Nairobi. The boy was wearing an old and dirty oversized shirt, a pair of shorts which were modified from trousers, and holding a home-made toy assembling from only two plastic container caps, a bolt and a stick from a corn plant. He was looking at me and my camera with curiosity, fear and a touch of anger and asking a question with his eye, “Why?”.
I’ll donate all my income with all the documentary photographs from my trip to Kenya to a charity organization named Excellent Development.
