face in the darkness
2b mechanical pencil, kneadable eraser and 6b Graphite – and a paper stump – oh yeah, and a tissue (first time I’ve blended with a paper towell – cool stuff)
dark, devil, pencil, scary, satan, 911, conspiracy, rogernomix
I’d love to know more about the tissue. I use my finger and I’d love to try a paper stump but I’ve never even seen one, such is the calibre of art supply shops that we have in this country. I have this thing in the works where I’m thinking of doing some mist, might be a handy trick. Is the technique on a website anywhere?
I haven’t seen the technique anywhere, I found stumps for sale on trademe (NZ version of ebay) and gave them a shot – like smudging with fingers but smaller. The tissue I used was simply a paper towell – worked really well – it was jsut for the large dark area – but I reckon I coul dget nice tones on a large face portrait or something needing subtle shading… cheers
cool. love the composition. nice textures too.
great job, great illustration
Great picture mate !my brother bought me some blending stumps at a local art shop, 3 for a Quid, they work quite well. I have used tissues for blending for quite a while and they are very handy !
very cool pic – i agree with the tissue method for a good blend
