I’d love to know more about the tissue. I use my finger and I’d love to try a paper stump but I’ve never even seen one, such is the calibre of art supply shops that we have in this country. I have this thing in the works where I’m thinking of doing some mist, might be a handy trick. Is the technique on a website anywhere?

I haven’t seen the technique anywhere, I found stumps for sale on trademe (NZ version of ebay) and gave them a shot – like smudging with fingers but smaller. The tissue I used was simply a paper towell – worked really well – it was jsut for the large dark area – but I reckon I coul dget nice tones on a large face portrait or something needing subtle shading… cheers

my brother bought me some blending stumps at a local art shop, 3 for a Quid, they work quite well. I have used tissues for blending for quite a while and they are very handy !
