My name is Allen Gray, and I’m a photographer in the Geelong region. Originally from Tasmania I’ve been interested in photography for a while (there was always a point and shoot nearby when I went anywhere!), but it’s only been in the past few years that my hobby has really taken off, when I acquired a Canon 400D digital SLR. Since then I’ve upgraded my camera body to the Canon 50D and never looked back! I tend to shoot anything that catches my eye, but my main passion is capturing the CFA in action, as I am a proud and active current member, and aircraft. Thanks for taking a look at my work, and I am open to all hints and tips, as I am always learning when it comes to my photography!

Does size really matter, what's a extra 100mm anyway?

With Tax time getting closer (For us Australians!), it’s finally time for me to be able to do something that I’ve been wanting to do for years, buy some new glass. I sat down to look at my options, and how that realted to my prefered style of shooting, and straight away I was looking at two lenses, the Canon 24-105L and the Canon 100-400f/4-5.6L IS USM. Why these two? After borrowing …

The Feather in the Cap that is 2011

Over the course of the last couple of months, due to training commitments as a Volunteer Fire Fighter with the Country Fire Authority, I’ve missed quite a few club nights, so I made the effort to attend the last club competition night for 2011, as I had a few Electronic images in for submission. So I sat there quietly, watching the parade of images as the judge gave his comments, and disagr…
