Blue Water Horse – Storm Horse original wall art
Another in my series of much loved horses and horse breeds.

This is a Blue Brabant, the breed was originally used as a Belgian working horse.
I created this work during the heavy rains and floods we experienced over the past week and it’s dedicated to the people and animals who suffered during the dreadful storms and flooding.
A quarter of the way through working on this the heavy storms hit and while watching the news I watched people desperately trying to save a horse swept away by the floods.
A heartbreaking sight as I remembered taking my horse down the beach and the thrill of riding bareback in the ocean and how we both loved it so much.

Awesome…………love the heavy horses!
Hey Ade, I do too, have a real soft spot for them, probably as a kid my first was a 17h draft/hunter cross, had to climb up on the back fence to get on her…so falling off was never an option as it was a long walk home or to find another fence lol!

This is SO very beautiful Shanina! Love the tones & I love the reflections! xoxox
Thank you Marg, I did learn a lot while working on this, started it 3 times and threw it way before finally it came together, but that’s what it’s about isn’t it, a learning curve everytime;) xoxo

lololol…………….I know exactly what you mean. “Curly” is 17hh’s and it sure is a long way up there………………….jumping him over a metre at the moment. Now that’s a rush!!!!
hehehe When you a 11 year old 4’3’’ kid, it might as well be a skyscraper;)
What I love about them is they’re so gentle and you can read their reactions quickly, especially bareback, probably because they are bigger, it takes that little bit longer for them to spook, so your always ready….one day Ade, I’ll have another, couldn’t think of anything more blissfull then spending time with one;)
