PS: tragic about that young lad in Qld. Heaps of that kinda shit happening out in the ‘burbs/schools/streets where I work, unfortunately.

The problem really lies in legislation. They should stop being so darn soft and come down super hard on people who do evil things. Then the Police will enforce the Law and if you are caught doing the wrong thing, you’ll have a long time to live to regret it.

Why can’t they understand CJ…everyday another life lost in a sensless act…where did we go wrong!

There is an old wise saying: Spare the rod, spoil the child.

I think a lot have misunderstood that wisdom. Rod, in theology simple means discipline … it DOES NOT mean a stick of which to hit with … if the parent spares (does not teach) discipline then the child is spoilt (in character). _Self discipline is a vital tool to life and a lot of children today don’t seem to possess much self discipline. The best way for parents to teach discipline to children is via their own actions, as a lot of children notice actions more than they do words. If some children see their parent/s acting in certain ways around the home which are wrong they naturally assume it is ok and is the way of this world. As a result they act that way too which may not be acceptable in society at large. Then again, look at what is being shown in videos, tv & movies as well as some lyrics in songs these days … violence, debauchery and other immoral ideas. Young minds take that in, and some also take that on.
It is no use blaming the children … when the parents do not have themselves in the right mind nature.

Awesome and marvelous social statement Shanina. I love these works that scream at your soul. I agree with James on this response. You need tougher laws, evil should have NO RIGHTS. More parents need to RAISE their children and not simply have babies and throw them to the crowd.

powerful message so desperately needing a voice….children have lost their way because society has almost destroyed the family values, love, support and nurturing as well as discipline. We have so little respect left for ourselves with almost everything under the sun being sold with some kind of sexual reference to it so love is not longer sacred. Children are reacting to years of neglect, abuse, violence and frustration.

Prayers are always heard, God sees all…....

I too have many times shed tears over the violence and abuse committed by and against chlildren…I was abused as a child for many years so I have first hand experience of such tragedy so I tend to be very sensitive about this issue myself. It is and always will be true that if we want change we first have to start with ourselves, helping those in need, be a good example, love with all our hearts and show others the right way…..
