Holly, Valens and The Big Bopper... That Fateful Night

Twas the 3rd of February 1959,
All was good all was fine..
They finished singing at the winter dance,
To catch a plane they only had one chance.
A pilot not much older than me,
To fly he idols he was so happy.
He was not permitted to fly that night,
The plane crashing down what horror what fright.

A gun was found among the wreck,
Had Holly shot the pilot they had to check.
The post mortem came and the results were shown,
They died from the crash that night they shouldn’t have flown…

The flip of coin ended Ritchie Valens Life,
At 17 he had no kids nor wife..
Donna Ludwig his young girl friend,
A broken heart she couldn’t mend.

Buddy Holly was married for half a year,
The nation cried many shed a tear.
His wife was pregnant but she miscarried
It was the shock of being widowed after being married

The Big Bopper was oldest at 29,
20 feet away from the plane the hardest to find.
He almost got the freezing cold bus,
But gone on the plane when he caused as fuss.

Buddy Holly and Ritchie Valens I sing there songs,
And I play them on my guitar all day long.

Though they may be gone dead and perished,
There music lives on and their talent is cherished
