Brilliant stuff. We’re off up the Lakes next week and I strongly suspect we’ll be seeing scenery through drizzle which looks like this.

  • Alixzandra replied

Enjoy your trip to the lakes and if you see a vista in landscape that makes you think of this one, I’d love to see your interpretation Mark! The drizzle has indeed descended and Winter has arrived. Thanks for your feedback, always appreciated :-) Alix

To my eyes, this puts me in mind of an old chinese painting, with the ochre/reds against the bamboo tones and graphic like tree structures (almost Calligraphy looking), truly wonderful.

  • david henderson

    david henderson

i love this work Alix, the composition and the colors, both induced (?) and naturally occurring in perfect harmony. sheet metal gives up so much material, wondeful stuff! kind regards, david.

  • Alixzandra replied

Hi David. I’m not sure what you mean by induced? The metal was as I found it. Here is a link to the full size peice of sheet metal this macro was taken from Link with some information on how I found it. It now lives in my garden..! I believe the way this has occured is definately due to some sort of chemicals/acids/outside elements in combination over time. Glad you like it. Alix

Hi Alix, I wasn’t sure whether you ‘assisted’ the image in some way or not, it is a piece of magic, my old iron is plain beside it!! cheers, david.

  • Alixzandra replied 7 days ago

I suppose the point of my work is that with these metal macro landscapes, it can be whatever your minds eye sees it to be. I like that people see different landscapes in one shot, imagination is everything :) Thanks again.
