Gracie Scala Adamson was raised in an Italian migrant family and has grown up with an appreciation of seeing the world in different ways.
Her art reflects her unique experiences and expresses her passion for nature, culture and early childhood education.
Gracie views the natural world with wonder and joy and loves to share this with others. Her feather collages focus the eye on the beauty and form that so intrigue her.
One of Gracie’s favourite style of artistic expression is in drawing and painting Her pen and ink paintings capture the free movement and joy of childhood. They celebrate free play as the vehicle through which children learn about themselves and the world around them.
This style is most evident in Gracie’s first self-published picture storybook based on a translation of one of her mother’s oral Italian fairytales. The Three Broad Beans ( Le Tre Favette) published by Monounlimited 2010. This book is now available to borrow at the Geelong and State library or purchase directly from Gracie at upcoming markets.
