A sizable storm heading back out to sea at St Andrews beach on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Australia. This night was the closest I’ve ever come to losing the camera in the drink. So glad I didn’t!

Photography for me is an outlet, a way I can express myself through images rather than words. I look at the subjects I shoot from every possible angle that I can imagine and with the right light, the vision in my head becomes a reality. My passion for it began after high school and over the past several years it has become my release, my way of seeing from a different perspective..

Another RIPPER mate!! Well done :-))

  • Thanks mate, was a pretty wild afternoon / night when I took this. Was a little bit of lightning around but it didn’t last long and was very hard to predict so didn’t get a shot of it unfortunately :(

Awesome cloud formation, and captured brilliantly mate! I know what it is like to lose a camera in the drink! Check out this post i entered some time ago ;) Pays to have good insurance!

  • Lucky mate! Yeah pays to have insurance, I always keep my hand on the tripod or wrapped around the strap but when I was here this wave came in over my knees (I was holding the tripod and camera up in the air) and it hit me with such force that I almost fell over backwards because my shoes were stuck deep in the sand.

    Beautiful Alistair:)

  • Thanks mate, wasn’t as sharp as I would have liked because of the ISO but the noise reduction software in the new Lightroom is doing a pretty good job of retaining a bit more detail out of some older shots :)
