So still in Melbourne wandering what this place looks like and dying to get up there and see what’s left of our house. Black Saturday was well over a month ago now and whilst the road to Kinglake is being opened to the public tomorrow – Tuesday the 16th of March, I’m still not sure as to when Marysville will open up again.

To kill the time I’ve been busy at uni and work but also going through some old photos and rediscovering the beauty of this burnt out place.

Taken with my old Canon 300D and 18-55mm lens.

Photography for me is an outlet, a way I can express myself through images rather than words. I look at the subjects I shoot from every possible angle that I can imagine and with the right light, the vision in my head becomes a reality. My passion for it began after high school and over the past several years it has become my release, my way of seeing from a different perspective..
