San Francisco Days

San Francisco Days

Title from a certain Chris Isaak song… I haven’t been taking a lot of photos whilst enjoying my stay in San Francisco but this little visit to a certain bridge we all know, made the fact that I hadn’t been out not matter to me at all, I absolutely loved this spot and I can’t wait to come back to this great city and explore it a little bit more…

Without a doubt this is already one of my favourite photos out of the many thousands I have taken over the past 18 months or so, thanks for looking :D

    Garth Smith

Great shot of a world icon Alistair, looks like it wasnt a bad sunset either.

  • Alistair Wilson replied

Thanks Garth, it was magical luckily a few little bits of fog drifted in and got lit up by the setting sun I was worried there wouldn’t be any detail in the sky but was rewarded quite nicely :) appreciate the comment

    Brendan Schoon

Oeh Yeh, fantastic shot, great exposure and lighting control! The colors are truly fantastic, very nice how you’ve combined a polarized filter with a ND8 Grad. Great composition, the bridge is truly adding so much DOF and the rock in the foreground is amazingly filled with detail. Feels like I’m on that small beach! Instant favorite!! Very well done.
    Brendan

  • Alistair Wilson replied

Thanks mate, was tricky with the filters polarizing worked well coz i was almost perpendicular to the sun and the ND8 I had to tilt to the left a bit to line up with the bridge. I find live view helps to line it up with my camera I’ve found myself using it more and more lately.. Thanks for the comment mate
