Gotham City

So I know there’s gotta be other people out there excited about the release of the new Batman Movie The Dark Knight, or is it just me? This is a tribute to possibly one of my favourite movies! This is also one of my first really serious attempts at creating some digital artwork in Photoshop.

This is the result of me having a lot of time, sitting at home sick when I should be at work. The question is can you see Batman?? For this I started off with one of my pics of Melbourne, Australia from Southbank which was a HDR from 3 exposures. I then added in bats, flood lights, batman, the moon etc. and then once again a lot of tinkering in Lightroom to finetune :)

WOW this is great – and different in a really good way! But are they bats??? I’m not going into the city if they are that bad!! I thought they had relocated them from the Botanic Gardens! It obviously didn’t work!!

Simply beautiful; the metallic, menacing and rich gold glossy feel to this piece is more credit to your name. Your dedication to detail and your controlled usage of photography manipulation software shows that you are an expert! You could have gone overboard with light and dark saturation but again your choice of camera angle and usage of contemporary photography to set a mood/theme is remarkable.

This is a great tribute.
You have really captured the atmosphere of the Dark Knight—perfectly.
It is absolutely amazing how you were able to customize and improve the original image.

this is fantastic, often driving over the bolty bridge in melbourne i think it has a real gotham city look and your photo has brought that image in my head to life.
