Old School!

Old School!

An old Holden left for dead in Marysville, Victoria, Australia. Found it with all its windows smashed in and covered in Graffiti. HDR done in Photomatix, converted to black and white in Adobe Lightroom.

On Saturday the 7th of February my family lost our home away from home at Marysville, as well as our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and our Abyssinian cat. My condolences go to anyone who also lost family, friends or property on this terrible weekend, and I know deep down that Marysville will be back and better than ever, in the near future…

Hi Alistair – wonderful image! I’m a female car buff, and I must say – the Holden appears to be in pretty reasonable condition and maybe a restoration possibility? I have a great photo of a similar model holden from Seaworld on the Gold Coast, where they have converted it into a stunt boat used in their ski show!

  • Alistair Wilson replied

thanks, oh cool. i don’t know about reasonable condition all the windows are smashed in, dints everwhere and the inside has pretty much been ripped out and destroyed. the only thing pretty much left is the shell!

  • fruswife

    fruswife

Restorers candnew glass and upholstery and repair panels. They look for a shell that has pretty much all the shapes! Great pic anyway!!

    Hey Alistair,

Do you wreckon you could email me some more details about the car?

I’m interested in it as a restorer! It’d be a big project and take a few years, though its like artwork in itself restoring old cars and then you get to drive your artwork, which also produces sounds and is pretty much a traveling work of art :)

    My email is: ecoimpact@aol.com

I like your pictures of places around Melbourne, how do you manage to get the colours so vivid, if its your trade secret signature then I’d understand! But diffenitely get back to me about the holden man.

    Cheers

    Jesse
