This is very cool Alison, looks like a fractal – beautiful colours and effect.

Thanks Julie. I’m trying to use as few filters in PS as I can, and see what I come up with. I’m actually having a lot of fun.

Which filter did you use for this – a new one or a standard one?

  • Alison Johnston replied

Let me think …. Render Clouds (B&W), Pixelate>Mezzotint>Long Strokes, Blur>Radial Blur>Zoom>100% do that one twice. Duplicate layer and hide top layer. Distort>Twirl> 120 … Turn on top layer and change blend mode to Lighten then go to Distort>Twirl> -180 and then you can either clip a hue/sat adjust layer with each of the layers or do a colour balance or something like that.

Thats cool Ally – all the standard filters, Well done.

I’m going to upload another one that was done in a similar way but ended up with a totally different effect.

It’s like, 6 clicks of the mouse button Lorraine LOL I was trying to do something with as few filters as I could get away with, so 6 probably isn’t that bad going. The longest wait was for Photoshop when it was rendering the Radial Blur on a 5,000 odd pixel image ….. it didn’t like it very much LMAO
