Combining freehand digital painting, photo manipulation and traditional media is my favourite way to explore art, although I love it all and like to experiment. I often integrate layers of paint, fabric, collage, texture, colour, light, and pieces of anything interesting from the world or my imagination. Expressing emotion through the work is usually the key element.
New ideas flood my mind, but I prefer to work spontaneously, with only a vague idea or no plan at all. The process is what matters the most… the way it seems to have a life of it’s own, and leads me through deep feelings, colour, shape, texture, meaning, humour and joy. Listening to music accentuates the experience.
Tools used are a camera, laptop, PS CC, and Wacom Intuos 4 stylus/tablet. Also a wide variety of pencils, pastels, paints, markers etc.
I’m very happy that all my entries have been selected for inclusion in the last 3 juried international digital art exhibits at:
Digital Arts California. The latest outstanding exhibit has 80 artists from 17 countries, called Wide Open Digital 2.
