Dark Angel

Looking down from
A mountain of crystal shards
Each myriad prism
A trapped dream
Thrust from the valley
Of a life awry
Her tears cascading
Down glittering slopes
Halo of light wreaths
Raven locks
Feathered wisps
Falling forward
Curtaining a beautiful face
Etched with in marble pain

The tingling sensation
Of her name
Flashing in violet
And silver sheets
Across the gypsy night
Racing along her pale arms
And the memories fell aside

Dark Angel kissed the mouth
Of a world so cold and lonely
Spread her arms against
The singing winds
Lifted her face
To the moonlit sky
Pearl drops clung
To black lashes
Resting like wings
Upon ivory skin
And in that moment
She knew she could fly

Weep no more
Dark Angel
Wrapped in onyx wings
Child of ebony
Fly to the moon
I’ll see you on
The crystal mountaintop
In angels company

“Why did you kiss the world goodbye?
Ciao Baby…”
The Cult – Edie

Another blow in a year that has had too many already. We only found out last night that one of my eldest daughter’s dear friends chose to take her life. Feeling horrible and needed to express.
If you read this, and it resonates for all the wrong reasons, please reach out. Your life is precious and no matter how things feel now IT GETS BETTER.

Oh baby….Why? Ciao baby

I am so very sorry that this beautiful work had to come from something so painful and tragic. A friend of mine recently tried to take his life, but luckily, help reached him in time. My thoughts go out to you and your daughter, and the family of her friend.

Here’s hoping this feature will give this work more exposure, so it may hopefully help someone in need.

  • Thank you for the feature and your beautiful words Holly :)

Well-written and poignant. There is a group called Tribute to Lost Loved Ones – you might like to join and post there also?

  • Thank you so much. I shall look for the group, I must admit that I had not heard of it

This makes me cry Alison, so many young people have given up..When they look into the eyes of their parents they see hopelessness some have told me maybe it is this echo through the world of lost people that it touches the frail and innocient. I am so sorry you you and your daughter…

  • Thank you beautiful Vickie. I was ready to give up on all art and writing you know…but I truly believe that if we can touch their hearts and make them see in a different medium that we SEE them and that we are here, we can make a difference.

I love this one. I have to say. The imagery was too good. I think the feeling you’re conveying in this is one everyone has know before at one point or another. This desolate, striving feeling. It’s so hard to put a pin on but it’s absolutely alive.

  • Thank you for such a beautiful and insightful comment Jacie! I truly appreciate it :)
