Our Father, if you are in heaven,
Let us know your name;
Help us this day, where angels won’t tread,
Lead us out of fear and dread;
Give us the strength, to stay on our feet,
Save the souls on war torn streets;
Light the path to show us the way,
Help us to fight another day;
If the kingdom comes,
What will be done?
Forgive us our sorrow,
Forgive us tomorrow,
As we forgive you today

Yesterday I posted a poem dedicated to a young American soldier. I wanted to post this one for our Australian forces straight away, but the power shut down! I wrote this at the end of 2007 when the war just seemed to drag on and on.
Although I don’t agree with the reasons for the current war in the middle east, I fervently support the troops who are serving their countries. It applies to all soldiers, but I would like to dedicate it especially to our Aussie forces who seem almost forgotten on the world stage.
May peace come soon.
