Items I have collected for my part in the Disintegration Collaboration Project.
I have assembled an old gardening magazine, cardboard, music sheets, paints, teabag for staining (not sure I’ll use that yet) some fabric, scratched CD’s and some of my husband’s misplaced nails and bolts.

This is the spirit Alison…the items should leave some great marks…don’t forget to add some acrylic paint to your paper, if you are going to place it right where the rain gets it…that way it won’t turn to pulp…

  • Thanks Janis. Really nervous about getting it “right”!!!

Interesting collection! I was told to sand my flat washers so rust could get in there.. :)

  • Good idea!

There is really no right or wrong on this project which is a good thing…what we are trying to achieve is a weathering of materials that we put out in the sun and rain, with a view to using them as part of a new art work…photographers can use the newly textured work as background for photos, and writers can do the same…painters can do paintings on them, or they can be made into collages, journals etc…it’s a good idea to think about what you already know about the weather and how it affects items left out in it…you want things to change, to rust, to make marks, but not fall apart completely or you won’t be able to reuse them…check the forums and messages in the group for ideas I will be posting there…

  • Thanks for the ideas Janis :)

Should be pretty. the colours are so nice. Does hubby know he misplaced the nails and bolts? lol. I used music sheet also. It was from an old children’s learn piano book.

  • He misplaces things so often he’ll never miss it! Thank you Scallyart, I am excited yet quite nervous about the project!!
