Tears of Flame
This is mixed medium piece, of watercolours and pencil created for the Eye For An Eye Challenge. What I have tried to depict here is the anguish and the desire for revenge or justice that, in my personal opinion, the Virgin Mother must have felt upon her son being crucified. The flames represent that burning inner rage that can consume us all in the name of vengeance. Although I have used Mary and Jesus as my subjects, it could be any mother and child.
