Artist's Description

The great abandoned observatory on Kaylan Dire as stood empty since well before the Great Expansion.
It was built to observe the movement of deep space ships beyond the Rim.

At the time humanity was just starting to explore the galaxy after the war with the Plutonians.

They knew there were races beyond the Rim, but were not really sure of their intentions.
They had been approached by no less than six different species of beings at that time in history, but the war really left them very wary.

I came across these images while cleaning out my fathers house.
I included this image because my great, great, grandsire was stationed here for 234 years,I continue to be intrigued by the vids and pics of the planet he left behind.
And now I’m going to visit the planet and to see for myself the beauty he captured firsthand.

There was an old movie of the same name, I must have seen it 300 times.
