How does being a creative person and pursuing your creativity affect other aspects of your life?
......................................................................................................................................................
It suprises people! Creativity is different to technical ability. I took rotten pics when I only had film, but with digital my technical inaptitudes are overcome and my creativity is allowed to express itself.
I tend to be creative in everything I do. That doesn’t mean I do things well, only creatively :)

For example, when I had to create an application (I’m in I.T.) that analyzed software installs.
It was not only a spectacularly impressive beast in terms of what it could do and how easy it was to use, but it had the most wonderful icons anyone had ever seen on the buttons.
I used to tell people to stop trying to think outside the square- and start thinking outside the cuboid!

Tell us about one person or moment that has made your time on redbubble particularly special or meaningful
......................................................................................................................................................
There are too many wonderful people on RB to even try. But in terms of moments, then I guess that my first sale is it. It wasn’t the money (I made 50cents) but the fact that someone had actually paid for something I created.

Someone thought my work good enough to actually buy it.
That was – and is – such an amazing thing! It’s not what keeps me here – what keeps me here is the wonderful society of talented and creative people who support each other in the sort of community that the world would be very wise to emulate.

Show & tell us about five works on redbubble that have moved or inspired you.

Hmmmmm tricky. I’ll try.

My first intro to infrared was not on RedBubble, but the guy who took the pictures IS. So I can cite him.
That person, to whom I owe not only inspiration but also the modification of my camera, is David Burren
without him I might never have gotten into infrared.

Here there’s reason in pixels:

I am always and constantly inspired by the legendary Naomi Frost who’s images are literally the apex of infrared photography.

Here’s one of the first pictures that told me I just have to do this stuff:

I shall shoot water until I achieve something half as good as Mel Brackstone although I doubt I’ll ever achieve it. Firstly because I cant find water and rocks and secondly because she has set the bar far too high for me!

For example, take a look at Moolooaba

There is an artist on RedBubble who often inspires me. I have (posted) collabororated on two of her images, and I am sure it will happen again and again.

I speak of Denzil you need to visit and admire.

Then, there is a young up-n-coming artist called Maka who’s street captures are wonderful
examples of photo journalism and more.

I am impressed over and over.

—-——

There are hundreds of others, who I cannot even begin to list. My watchlist is large and growing.
I have been impressed and inspired by so many – and with apologees to my interviewer….........

I am incredibly impressed as a sci fi addict with the wonderful artwork of AlienVisitor
