The Mechan.

On a world called Neem at the edge of the Milky Way live the “Mechan” a race of beings who many centuries ago were another race.
Back in the dim past were a people who called themselves the Melodini,a people with a peaceful idyllic world.
Then one day their idyllic existence was violated,it came about when they made first contact with the Grrranaa.
The Grrranaa are a nomadic race dealing mostly in the sale of slaves.

And so began the downfall of the Melodini,a people who could not defend themselves against the superior technology of the Grrranaa.

The culling continued for just short of 100 years,by then these simple peaceful people were well on their way to becoming a non-race.

An underground movement was organized and ideas pooled to find some way of stopping the slavery.It was decided the slavery would not stop.Then the robotics guild put forth the idea of designing robots and installing the memories, histories and knowledge of their people into the mechanical brains.
After some thought it was put into effect,and workshops were build in deep caverns and after many years and countless designs, the “Mechan Race” was born.
300 were made and all the combined knowledge of the Melodini was programed into the robots.
After 2 or 3 more centuries went by the race known as “Melodini” was depleted and the Grrranaa moved on not knowing that beneath the mountains of the planet Neem a race of robots had been activated.

Today they are a race to be reckoned with,they have achieved space travel.And to protect their world they built a force field that covers the entire planet.
