I agree with all of the above. I really like your rendering of the sand. Just enough to know it IS sand without overdrawing. Her posture and clothes are so natural and her hair! You ‘ve done a fabulous job here. You forget you’re looking at a drawing – like Glenn said “I’m there”.
This drawing is speaking way more than a similar raw picture taken by camera. I think I know why: a hint of something leaves far more room for imagination and personal interpretation than the blunt, hard lines and details of a regular picture… Your beautiful drawing gives a hint of a hot summer day, a hint of hot sand, a hint of a child enjoying the balmy water and a hint of the girl looking in the far distance, apparently absent to the life around her, but rather focused somewhere-nowhere in the outside in of her imagination. Absolutely masterful.
I know for a fact that I’m getting good lessons in art from you Alice every time I look at one of your artworks. I think this speaks volumes for your talent and creativity. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.
Gosh, I must have missed this wonderful comment! You have brought tears to my eyes and made my day Stan! My daughter, the subject here, is a dreamer, and a very talented artist in her own right. Thank you! Thank you! xx
