Hey Jude
A co-operative diptych drawing, I did the drawing, my daughter did the photography and photo editing and composition.
And any time you feel the pain, hey, Jude, refrain
Don’t carry the world upon your shoulders
Well don’t you know that its a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder
Charcoal on paper, 14×24”

You are just too good! Your daughters composition is excellent!
Alice McMahon ... in reply to Philip Rogan’s comment, 3 months ago
Thanks! My daughter started the drawing but got frustrated with the charcoal medium. I haven’t done charcoal on paper, but thought I’d give it a try. The concept was just too good to discard. My next few works will be the same medium, demanding but great contrast in the end.

Great work. I love this feeling. Very somber, yet holds my attention. I also love the fact that it was a “family” project, kind of goes right along with the story in the picture.

Adore this image and the words. The boy looks so humble and open in this creation. So supports the words. I believe that human life is confusing but also exciting. We would be best served to be open about our own confusion and mistakes and share with each other so that we can learn without fear of judgment. So many seem to put up false appearances and deny their pain to others. The sooner we all become transparent the quicker the struggle can stop and the joy can take over.

Thanks for your wonderful and insightful remarks Tony! This model is my youngest son. He graduated from grammar school yesterday, and he’s doing well, but is really reserved! My daughter chose the Beatles tune for this piece. It suits my boy perfectly.
