Studio 539

Pastel on peach Fabriano paper, self-portrait in my Fine Arts Building Chicago art studio, from life in a mirror reflection, 2005. The view behind my portrait is the actual view of the Venetian Courtyard of this historic studio building, an artist’s haven for over a century. I often frame my work in vintage and antique distressed frames, especially mirror frames.

Studio 539 belongs to the following groups:

1 on 1: The Fine Art of Portraiture , ! 100% !, Fine Arts, Mature Woman, Out of the Past and Shameless Self-Promotion Available for sale as

It was a year ago Linda – I have a photo posted of it here. I spent a few months working from home. Now I’m back to the same studio building in downtown Chicago, The Fine Arts Building, but this time I’m subletting. Not nearly as lush, but half the rent!

I’m still at school (I have an all-day meeting tomorrow, and had to get lesson plans, organize supplies, etc. for the sub—not that it’ll make any difference. Usually the subs bring their own books, ignore the students, and when I come back, the place is half-destroyed. Since it’s “just art”, most subs don’t think we “do” anything. This time, I made a very detailed worksheet about Andy Warhol for my 7th period class (my most difficult to manage) to fill out in entirety before I’m back on Friday (heehee). When I get home, I’ll check out your photo of your studio. How cool to have a studio in the Fine Arts Building in Chicago (sigh)!!!
