Just great. Well more than just great really awesome image thats very evocative and well supsedes a lot of comic art. Have you ever been asked to do graphic novels? Striking image.

While my style is illustrative, I like to think of myself as a fine artist. I avoid anything meant for printed materials. Quite sure there are others out there with mad skills doing such illustration, but it doesn’t appeal to me. Glad you like the piece!

Gasp. I did see this piece, but I was so overwhelmed with all your work, I didn’t leave a comment! I have been on the Kent State Campus, and have a former student there (as I said, my hubby was a student there when the shootings occurred). I always wonder if the current students understand the magnitude of the memorials’ meaning, or if they just pass them by without a second thought.

When we brought Alex there, our family spent time looking at the memorial, and talked about it and contemplated it. Alex did go to the annual parade on May 4th with his girlfriend. There is a small group of students still who man the “May 4th Task Force” office – they have a website also. I spoke with some of the students and the teacher who directs them while I was working on this painting. Lennon’s “Revolution” was the mantra of the time after the shootings. It was mind bending working on this piece knowing Alex was at that campus, and thinking of the parents who lost their children during the shootings. I can’t begin to imagine the pain of that.
