Simply wonderful. I will share this with my students, particularly my drawing classes.

I have the hardest time teaching my drawing classes. I’m always explaining that I’m not teaching them how to draw, but how to “see”. Teaching them how to see the lightest lights to darkest darks-not to mention contours and shapes- is so difficult when they’ve been trained to “color” in a flat way (thanks to coloring books, and all the “projects’ that regular classroom teachers give them in map coloring, etc.). Since your work shows the full range of values, it’s a wonderful example for me to share. By the way, my daughter thinks you resemble Minnie Driver in this portrait!
