Artist's Description

A four-spotted chaser dragonfly coming to rest on the end of a stick. The stick was at the edge of a peat bog at Hothfield Common, Ashford, Kent.
Hothfield Common, maintained and conserved by the Kent Wildlife Trust is made up of ancient heathland, acid grassland, bogs, mires and wooded heath. It is one of the last remaining fragments of open heath and has the last four remaining valley bogs left in the county of Kent.
