Is that a lion on your bottom?

Artist's Description

This gorgeous Bee beetle Trichius fasciatus often found buried head-down in a flower, so I guess it has evolved an alternative face on it’s behind to ward off predators. Seriously, how scary is that cute little ‘face’?! (It’s Latin-name looks a bit like Tricky Face!!). This is a really old-fashioned, heavily-perfumed English rose (sounds a bit like me!) that he stayed in for a least 3 days and nights.

Canon EOS 550D, Canon 50mm Macro Lens).

FEATURED in Group: Bugs & Animals on Flowers/Foliage in Macro – December 2013; Pretty in Pink – February 2014; CHALLENGE WINNER in BUGS or ANIMALS on ROSES. (Special Valentines challenge!) – February 2014.
