Venetian Masks

I had a dream two nights in a row about attending a masquerade ball where people wore full face masks mostly white. I learned by researching on Google that this was the traditional Venice carnival which started in ll00 A.D. I thought of Shakespeare line “We are all actors on a stage”. The jester was the closest champions and confidants of kings and queens in many fables and throughout history. I also see in this painting the many persona’s women wear skillfully to meet the demands of the many characters we play on our own stage of life. This acrylic painting is 16” X 20” including gold leaf and pearl mixtures.

    VERY,VERY BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you so much. My 16 year old niece fell in love with it and my brother bought it for her for Christmas. They said I made them Grandmother and Grandfather of the year, she was so surprised to get an original. P.S. I didn’t sell it per-say they just helped me pay the shipping to Oregon.
