The man who waves the flashing stick; Ginza, Tokyo
Every construction site, every road-gang has these guys: the people who wave the flashing sticks, warning pedestrians and drivers that there is something going on. It’s the sort of job that old guys get when they’ve either retired and need a bit of pocket money, or when they’ve retired and the really need the money.
This fella was down at the bottom end of the Ginza in Tokyo, at about mid-night. He sort of looks like he isnt doing anything…. but that’s how these guys look most of the time.

Same kind of thing in Australia.. only with Stop/Slow lollipops and they get quite well-paid for some reason because in contrast what’s the Korean answer? A mannequin with a robotic arm haha
Alfie Goodrich...
They have those robotic arm things here too…

we have guys in orange vest… no mannequins with robotic arms… but we do have big electric signs with lit arrows pointing to detour direction… i love this image alfie… wow~ the guy’s expression… i don’t think he liked you…
Alfie Goodrich...
I would prefer to think that it was just late at night and he was either bored or tired, or both… :-)
This shot on Flickr was his much more happy-to-be-photographed friend;

Alfie Goodrich...
Yeah :
) Crazy colours from the arc lights and whatever else was going in. And yes…. what an expression. Guess being out at almost 1am and staring down the barrels of a five hour shift at that hour is enough to give you a face like that :)Scott d'Almeida
