Zhengyangmen Gate - Beijing, China by

The 40 meter-high Zhengyangmen Gate (Qianmen) was the main south gate of the inner city during the Ming and Qing Dynasties and is now found south of Tiananmen Square in Beijing, People’s Republic of China. The construction of the Qianmen began in 1419. IThe gate suffered massive damage when the Eight Power Allied Forces invaded Beijing in 1900 and was reconstructed in 1906.
