All these examples do NOT imply that petrol is cheap; it just illustrates how outrageous some prices are.
You will be really shocked by the last one (at least, I was)!!!
Think a litre of petrol is expensive?
This makes you think, and also puts things into perspective.
Can of Red Bull, 250ml, $2.95 … $11.80 per litre!
Robitussin Cough Mixture, 200ml, $9.95 ….. $199.00 per litre!
L’Oreal Revitalift Day Cream, 50ml, $29.95 … $599.00 per litre!
Bundy Rum, 1250ml, $51.00 …. $40.80 per litre!
Visene Eye Drops, 15ml, $5.69 … $379.00 per litre!
Britney Spears Fantasy Perfume, 50ml, $29 … $580.00 per litre!
And this is the REAL KICKER.
Evian water, 375ml, $2.95 …$7.86 per litre!
$7.86 for a litre of WATER!!
and the buyers don’t even know the source
(Evian spelled backwards is NAIVE!!)
Ever wonder why computer printers are so cheap?
So they can hook you for the ink!!
Someone calculated the cost of the ink at, you won’t believe it but it’s true; $1,040 a litre.
$1040.00 A LITRE!!!
So, the next time you’re at the pump, be glad your car doesn’t run on water, Red Bull, Robitussin, L’Oreal or, God forbid, Printer Ink!!!!!

I used to buy the same $79 printer from office works every time the ink ran out because it was cheaper than replacing it. The new printer came with 2 lots of ink. The buy 2 lots of the ink separately cost $180. Eventually I ran out of friends who wanted a free printer (I went through 7 of them) so I stopped. I just avoid printing all together now.

The frustrating thing is that most of the price of petrol is TAX !!!!!! another ripoff by the governments !!!!! In th UK it’s £1.20 a litre, sorry I don’t have a comparison price for you but no doubt someone will work it out for me.

it is frustrating indeed, especially for the price of lpg gas, it is a by product so it should be free, but they are charging 90c per litre and our fuel is $167 per litre.
Iain Mavin, about 1 month ago
You’re joking ! $167 ? I couldn’t afford to go to work in the car and it would be a 10 mile walk – no buses when I need them.
Iain Mavin, about 1 month ago
Is bundy rum 100 % proof ? cheaper to run the car on that and the exhaust smell would be interesting !!!

oops $1.67 haha sorry, but it will be that price one day soon if the gov’t have their way
wiccanrider, about 1 month ago
I think we are lucky not to live in the UK the exchange rate makes it about $2.50 a litre over there.

Boris Bello, about 1 month ago
This is hilarious, but I like the idea of comparing it. Maybe that’s how some dudes would stop complaining about “impossibly” high gas prices, because other peoples have never had cheaper gas even in during the 1990s (living on $100 monthly salary whilst having the same US prices in the supermarket).....
Iain Mavin, about 1 month ago
How’s this for a comparison In 1972 it was 34p a GALLON mind you wages were a lot less

Yep ! I’ve got older, going gray, bits falling off, but on the plus side got a digital camera to catch these events. Amazzing to think that now i don’t have to buy film, send it away to get it processed and wait for the little package to drop through the letter box then look at the horrendous mess I made and have to pay for it !! Now plug into pc and do it all myself – still end up with a horrendous mess at times but at least there is always DELETE !!!!

So very true made me laugh cry and smile in all the right spots – as for the printer ink its spot on 25ml is $25.00 as an average so yes its a little dear to buy by the litre that way – and yes we get the printers sometimes thrown from in from the wholesalers to give away as it locks the customers into the particular brands custom ink. Hmm perhaps I should go now and start weighing my tealeaves and work out the cost per KG…
Cheers Robby
