There usually is some kind of deeper meaning or plan to my artwork, but I have to say this one was more of an exercise. I am trying to get better at the Art Nouveau style. I also used a color combination I have never used before – red and blue. The title came after the work was created. As I was drawing her, I made an aesthetic choice of adding the pointy ears and since her skin was blue I called her a dark elf. She has my cousin’s Magdalena’s hair, thus her name.
