Midnight Oil - Last Stand 2

This is the Moment that Peter Garrett and Midnight Oil, leave the Stage, probably for the last time.

I like this one, because you can see all the people that have come out to stand on the side of the stage, to mark the occasion. Also have a look and see if you can find the two guys operating the spot-lights.

Photo from the Melbourne Sound Relief Concert, that was held for victims of the Bushfire Desaster in Victoria on Saturday the 14th of March 2009.

All Proceeds from any sales of this image on redbubble will be donated to the Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

Makes me wish I’d gone. Well captured.

Thanks, you never know, they might reform one day. If the whole politics thing doesn’t work out for PG.

I used to be a BIG fan of Midnight Oil. a looooong time ago! It was interesting to see that they pulled it together for this (despite the political pressure!) – I am on the other side of the World these days, so had no chance of seeing them ;-)
    Nice image BTW!

This whole MP/rockstar thing would never work in England. I am impressed.

I guess he pulled it of, without loosing his face. Apparently he got a very warm reception in parliament afterwards, even from the opposition, although they thought that he makes a far better musician…

That’s because they all wish they could have been rockstars. Some people just look like politicians. Their path is set.

Whats it like in the UK, have there been any people that have come from the entertainment industry and gone into politics. I guess for Peter Garrett it was more of a logical consequence, rather than using his fame to become influential.

Great to see a whole scene like this Alex. Handled the lighting well in this shot. Good work.

Thanks Darren. This was handheld with a crappy old tamron lens at ISO1600. I know why everybody wants one of those VR lenses. They would be very helpful in situations like this.
